This month is National Preparedness Month. Pet Evac Pak has been actively helping our family, friends, neighbors, and customers prepare for disasters all month.
Local:
Recently, many of our neighbours, family members, and friends have had to evacuate their homes because of the Hawk fire. In response to this crisis, we are collaborating with VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster), providing support at our local resource center. Our therapy dog teams are actively assisting those affected, offering comfort and emotional support during this challenging time.
Additionally, we will be participating in the Carson City Preparedness Fair next week. Held in our capital city, Carson City, this event aims to educate and equip our community with tools for emergency preparedness and disaster response. We will have a booth where we can share information and resources. We encourage everyone to join us and learn how to better prepare themselves and support one another.
National:
We have been actively collaborating with Nationwide Pet Insurance to create and distribute Emergency Starter Packs designed specifically for their customers throughout the United States and around the globe. These packs are intended to provide essential items for pet owners in times of crisis. Nationwide understands the importance of being prepared.
International
Furthermore, we are proud to partner with Humane World for Animals to deliver tactical pet first aid kits for their training programs in Vietnam. These kits are tailored to equip the Red Cross with the necessary tools and knowledge to address pet emergencies effectively in the field.
The word is spreading, and we need to ensure we don’t hide under a rock, thinking, “It won’t happen to me.” September is National Preparedness Month, and it’s easy to make a plan and prepare an emergency kit for your pets.
