Over the past week, many countries have issued advisories to make a plan and be prepared for a disaster. They advise having at least 3 days (72 hours) to 10 days of emergency supplies on hand. Our own US Military has a mandate to be ready to run off-grid for 90 days. Newsweek even published a map showing Nations urging people to stockpile food as France issues warnings.
Why is this happening now? That’s a great question. I found several reasons.
#1 Geopolitical Tensions and Hybrid Warfare:
While this is worrisome, It’s been going on for some time. Although the chaos is ongoing, France has escalated to new levels.
#2 What they are calling Critical Infrastructure Vulnerability:
This relates to our banking infrastructure and possible cyberattacks, natural disasters, and physical sabotage, which could leave emergency services unable to reach you.
#3 Natural Disasters and Climate Extremes:
Some countries, like Japan, Canada, and others, regularly face severe weather, floods, wildfires, and earthquakes, so they need to be prepared. The US has felt many of these weather swings over the last few years, and now it’s time to focus on Emergency Preparedness.
#4 Fragile Supply Chains:
We see this firsthand. Last week, when these warnings were issued, we sold 8 weeks’ worth of product in 3 days.
Our pets are counting on us to keep them safe. What if there were an attack on our infrastructure? Would you have enough supplies to keep yourself, family, and pets safe? By waiting until a disaster occurs, you’re likely to find shelves empty.
All Pet Evac Paks come with a 72-hour supply of food and water, plus everything else you need to keep your pet safe should something happen.
Tips for prepping:
Stockpile food you don’t need to cook in case of a power outage. Make sure you have extra food for your pets, such as kibble or canned food with a long shelf life. Water is crucial; most plastic bottles last only a year. Our Mayday pet food and water have a five-year shelf life thanks to their foil-sealed pouch. Last but not least, keep pet-friendly first aid supplies on hand, such as vet tape, PetVet antibacterial wound gel, and activated charcoal. Adding these three items to your emergency first aid kit can help you prepare for pet medical emergencies.
- Activated Charcoal
- Pet Vet Antibacterial Wound Gel
- PetFlex
