A Look Back at 2018

What a year! We rescued and fostered some dogs, collected and delivered donations of pet supplies for the victims of the Camp Fire in CA, and volunteered over 200 hours with our therapy dogs at hospitals, senior homes, and the airport. Oh! And we launched a brand new business!

We launched Pet Evac Pak on May 4, 2018, celebrating with family and friends at an open house. Our packs were well received and we toasted with many glasses of champagne. And away we went! Then in the fall, California was hit hard by several devastating wildfires. We put together a donation drive for pet supplies and made 2 trips to Oroville, CA, delivering to the North Valley Animal Disaster Group, which had taken in over 600 displaced animals.

We were able to share our product and vision at lots of events in Nevada and California such as Art Paws, CA OES open house, Nevada Greyhounds summer picnic, CA/NV fire drill at the Tahoe Biltmore, and a classic car show to benefit Veterans. We spoke with local dog training clubs and homeowners and attended a huge pet trade show, called SuperZoo, in Las Vegas. We took lots of classes through SCORE, Google, and Facebook to learn more about business, websites, marketing, and more. Whew!!!

We made another trip to Chico, CA, meeting up with Pastor Jerry with the Angels Among Us charity and another group from the Bay area, Rocket Dog Rescue. We are very grateful to our community for their contributions and support. It’s times like these that really highlight the need for emergency preparedness.
